And the Guest Blogger is…

by Amy on June 30, 2011

…my amazing niece, Emily! She’s only 11, but she’s already a truly amazing photographer. She’ll be sharing some of her work here on the blog from time to time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! The rest of this post is written by the fantastic Miss Emily.

Yes!! It’s me! The guest blogger Emily!!! Amy (my aunt) told me she would post some of my pictures on her blog and I could write a guest post to go with them. Some of my interests are singing, acting, playing instruments, and of course, photography. I mostly like to take pictures of nature but sometimes I take pictures of people or my pets.

I’m exited to show off my awesome camera skills. I first started to get in to photography when Amy did. Then, when I got a film camera from her, I actually started to take pictures. I like to try new things and I’m glad I tried photography. I am a total book freak but sometimes that comes in handy in photography, and I say to myself, “Hey, this seems like it could be a scene in The Hunger Games!” or whatever book I’ve recently read, so I take the picture.

So anyways, my aunt and I went to the Lincoln Park Zoo and also to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. It took me a lot of tries to get the perfect butterfly picture but eventually, I got a couple. So really, that’s all I have to say for now. Bye!!

P.S. That Emily is pretty fabulous, isn’t she?

I’m impressed. I can’t pick my favorite shot, but I keep coming back to the gorillas and the giraffe. Don’t know why but my eyes are enjoying resting there. 🙂 Great job Emily!!

These are AMAZING! I really can’t believe you’re only 11, Emily! The giraffe and the gorillas are phenomenal, completely wall-worthy. If I had been half as talented as you at 11, I would rule the world now. Keep up the great work! I can’t wait to see more!
