Stop to Smell the Dandelions

Dandelions and power lines in Palatine, IL

There are about two weeks every summer when I drive around and see fields of yellow dandelions everywhere. They turn from bright yellow flowers to poofy balls of fluff and then, just like that, they are gone. Every year I want to stop and photograph them. I never do. But this year, I just happened to be (surprise!) running a bit early one day, and had my camera with me. Throwing any thoughts of embarrassment over what other drivers passing by might think, I rolled around in a field of dandelions and had some fun.

Thanks, Erica! I do, too. Although, a little more spring might have been nice this year. It felt like we jumped from winter straight to summer!
