Black and white film photograph of menacing statue in the modern wing of the Art Institute of Chicago

Look at that! Two weeks in a row! I think we have an official theme! I believe this is the last post from that weekend when the world was supposed to end, and the crazy fog rolled in and John and I had a lovely day downtown.

I love the Art Institute. I could spend hours and hours and hours in there. I have. I will. The hall with works from India, Himalaya and Southeast Asia is my absolute favorite spot. I could just sit in there for hours. And since the addition of the modern wing when they shuffled some exhibits around, the artwork and statues in that area are just screaming to be photographed. They have wonderful backgrounds and are lit beautifully. I love being able to bring a little Zen home with me when I leave the museum. I’ll leave you with one of my absolute favorite pieces in the museum.
